Moving & Deleting Internal Users
Deleting Internal Users
It is important to know that when you delete an internal user from iSpec the account is not deleted but set as inactive, this is to comply with iSpecs full audit trail and allows administrators to view user profiles and logs even if the user account has been deleted.
To delete a user you must first delete the users roles from all of there active projects, you can do this by going to the active projects and removing all project by clicking the delete icon
Once the user is removed from all active projects you can then delete the user
Once the user has been deleted there name is highlighted in red, the login name is renamed to a non descript name and the account is removed from normal view, to view deleted users you must check the 'Show deleted items' checkbox.
Moving Users
iSpec has a full audit trail that allows you to see all user properties and user logs even if the user has been deleted, because of this when you move a user to a different business unit the user account is actually set to inactive and a newly account created in the new business unit, this allows auditors to view the full user account trail.
To move a user to a new business unit click the edit user properties icon and then change the department.
You will then get a warning that the user has active roles and they have been moved to the new unit and if you wish to edit these you can do so from the new account
The old account will set as deleted, status changed to red and login name renamed to a non descript name
The user account has now been moved to the new business unit and the system will email you a new password
