Document types

 
You can add your own document types to iSpec for purposes of controlling user access to different types of information. You control who has access to any particular document type by allowing or denying users permission to that document type, this is done through the user role panel, for more information on user roles please see the Document access rights help section.
 
You can choose to make a document exportable by checking the Exportable checkbox by default all document types are non exportable , if the document type is exportable the document can be exported and completed offline, you  then import the document back into iSpec which will overwrite the current settings with the imported settings,
 
Setting document defaults
 
You can set the document defaults for any document type from within the Manage document type settings.
When the default settings are saved anytime a new document is created iSpec will apply the default settings to the document. When a new heading is created the default settings will be automatically be applied.
 
  • Description - Enter a description which will show when creating a new document.
  • Default requirement text - Enter default requirement text for ALL new headings.
  • Internal settings - If iSpec has the advanced evaluation module then you can automatically link new headings used during techncial/commercial evaluations.
  • External settings - Set the vendor requirements for new headings.
 
To create a new document type  click the Add button and enter your document type.
