iSpec has two document viewing modes outline mode and extended view mode, the default mode for adding and editing documents is outline mode, during template creation both extended view mode and preview mode are intended for previewing a document, you cannot add a new heading from extended view although you can modify the internal and external settings for this reason during template or tender creation we recommend using outline mode.

 

Outline Mode

 

Outline mode shows the headings in a tree like structure with the editing tools to the right

 

 

Extended View mode

 

Extended view mode allows you to see all of the document in one screen and just scroll through the entire document, although in this mode you cannot add new headings or set heading properties.

You can also preview the document with settings by checking the Preview with settings box.
