1.3.1.3.1.1.1. Adding nodes

Select Add group or Add component to add a group or a component. Groups are logical groupings of components that support specific functions. (See the links at the end of this section for more information on the theory behind diagnostic modeling).

The system will add a new group or component and you can rename it immediately. To rename an existing component, select it and click on it a second time.
Selecting Expand will expand the entire structure from the selected node downwards.
There is a second method for adding components to the model tree. This is the more efficient method if you already have parts in the part library. As one part may be used in many places in the system it makes sense to enter the data once and avoid having to duplicate it.
Thus if you have spare parts in your library, you can drag and drop them on the modeler tree and they take all their information with them. All that is left for you to do is change the name if required.
For example - drag and drop the 500mm wheel twice from the parts library to the Gantry. Then rename them Wheel 1 and Wheel 2. However when you look at the parts tab, you will see they both share the same part.

This is a much faster way of building your model if you have your parts in the library already.
